Phlebotomy for children aged 12-16 years - Booking Service

PHLEBOTOMY FOR CHILDREN (12-16 year old) IN THE COMMUNITY - Changes to booking arrangements with effect from 30 September 2024:  Parents or carers with children aged 12 years and over who require a phlebotomy appointment, are asked to book directly themselves on behalf of their child, via Mersey Care's online booking system at www.merseycare.nhs.uk/MyBloodTest.

The venues for paediatric phlebotomy have not changed:

• South Liverpool Treatment Centre, 3pm to 7pm each Tuesday (12 - 16 years)
• Old Swan Urgent Treatment Centre (Liverpool), 8.30am to 4pm each Wednesday (12 - 16 years)
• Litherland Town Hall, 3.30pm to 7pm each Thursday (12 - 14 years)

The only exceptions will be for those with complex needs, for urgent blood tests, and any children with long term conditions who are already under the care of Alder Hey.  Further details are available at https://www.merseycare.nhs.uk/blood-testing-12-years-and-over
